There are a lot of important points made here. There is a problem with the lack of transparency in the Occupy Dallas self-appointed leadership, as well as a problem in regards to inclusiveness. I find the allegations that a smaller group of white males branched off to make decisions about where OD is going amongst themselves especially troubling. Those allegations went mostly unchallenged, except for someone on the media team hinting that he didn’t see a problem with that were it true. I want to whole heartedly support OD but it’s difficult not knowing who it is assuming the face, on the website, in the Facebook, the warring factions within the media team, the sense that they don’t support my needs or have concerns about sexism/racism within the movement, and the hotheadedness and arrogance behind some of the updates. It’s troublesome, and a real impediment to the movement.The Occupy Dallas camp was recently raided by the Dallas Police Department otherwise abbreviated as D.P.D., and to be extremely crass, that sucked. Honestly though it was bound to happen eventually.
